BREAKING - #Childcare will be free for all working BREAKING - #Childcare will be free for all working parents from next week.

A lot of parents have contacted me fearing for the future of their childcare centres, and Labor has been calling for urgent response.

So I’m glad the Government has heeded the call to save childcare and ensure that those who need it, especially our frontline health and emergency service workers, will be able to get it.

This will also mean our hardworking staff and local providers will be supported as well.

Such a sad time Ged. To not be able to say proper good byes is just so sad. To lose two loved ones in a week is very hard Love and light to you and your family xx

The saddest thing is not being able to grieve with your loved ones - I lost a sister-in-law last Sunday and my brother is interstate so we cannot be there for him - sincere sympathy to all who have lost a loved one during these trying times.

It isn’t okay I know, but in other countries it’s far worse cases of death

R.I.P.

Sadly most domestic violence victims will be so closely monitored by their partners or their partners have taken their phones. Women and children will be at enormous risk with no way to report.

This is fantastic! But how does this impact parents that are choosing to keep their children home to help flatten the curve but are working from home. Will we still have to pay?

Josh, are childcare workers being offered some protective gear?

The government is actually doing a great job imho

Sounds amazing for parents but how is this saving the childcare services? When we are loosing the gap payments and receiving only 50% of hourly cap fee..Most of our families receive much more then 50% of ccs!

Brilliant news! Thankful I can keep working to provide for my son whilst he is being so cared and loved by his educators

Are you getting a pay-cut Josh Burns? Or is it business as usual from your office/home? As a long-term resident of McNamara/Melbourne Ports are you going to answer any of my queries? I especially want to know why you were mentioned in 'The Trigger'. What is your agenda?

Why childcare free for the unemployed what is the point of that?

Great news!

This has really made my day.

Well done Sco Mo

Labor MPs keep putting China’s interest first. NSW Labor MP Shaoquett Moselmane has been seen complimenting China’s President Xi Jinping’s “unswerving leadership” in handling the coronavirus crisis. Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton says the comments are ‘very disturbing’ and Mr Moselmane must resign and apologise. “You can’t have an allegiance to another country and pretend to have an allegiance to this country at the same time. “To be talking from the talking points of the Chinese Communist Party is completely unacceptable.” Assistant Minister Jason Wood was recently attacked and accused of racism for calling for an end to China’s wildlife wet-markets in places such as Wuhan. Federal Labor MPs Andrew Giles and Josh Burns desperately tried to link Mr. Woods concerns on animal welfare as racism to protect Chinas national interest. When will Labor put Australians first?

Dame Jean Macnamara was born 121 years ago today.

She was a pioneer in treating and helping kids with Polio.

When the world was going through a health pandemic, Dame Jean Macnamara brought kindness and care.

She showed the world that caring for people, especially those less fortunate, was the way through.

Now more than ever, we need heroes like Dame Jean Macnamara.

I’m proud to represent the electorate named after her and I’m glad Google is honouring her as well.

Thanks so much for that information Josh. What a wonderful woman

What an amazing woman. I had never heard of her until now. Very relevant to today's events.

this excellent book from Monash University Publishing gives an insight into the schism in polio treatments between Dr Macnamara and Sister Elizabeth Kennedy publishing.monash.edu/books/dmd-9781922235848.html
